L-R: AASH President, Maureen Elizabeth Ryan with Fr. Ignatius F. Ohno, S.J. and AMASC President, Pam Snyder at Forest Ridge of the Sacred Heart |
On Saturday, August 11th the AASH Western Regional Conference concluded with Mass in the Forest Ridge Chapel. What a pleasant surprise to most of the 48 attendees when our Celebrant, Fr. Ignatius "Natch" Ohno, S.J. introduced himself and mentioned that he holds a special place in his heart for the RSCJ as his mother attended the Sacred Heart school in Japan. AMASC President, Pam Snyder was especially delighted to hear this and after mass we all posed for a photo in front of the Triptych of St. Madeleine Sophie and children painted by Mother Margaret Mary Nealis, RSCJ.

Convent Class of 1940! Mom, (Maxine Novak) will be 92 on the 5th of February! She is being well cared for at "The Table Rock Healthcare, facility" She likes seeing old family pictures, when Paul brings his lap top to visit! She and her friends enjoys working jigsaw puzzles, and such. No longer living in St. Joe, I know that she would appreciate any remembrances, from family and friends. Table Rock Healthcare, 276 Fountain Ln., Kimberling City, Mo 65686. She, dad and I lived on the Convent of The Sacred grounds until 1945! The family home on Lovers Lane, built in 1883, was just sold. The last contact I had with any of the Mothers, was July 69, as we passed through Cincinnati, we visited the convent. Mother Regin an Sister Eileen (?) entertained, my wife and I along with our infant daughter, were welcomed into the Sisters quarters. The Lady's took turns holding my daughter, laughing talking about when they held me! 29 nine years before! God Bless and love for all of the Lady's who were so much of my formative life. After joining the Navy (58) I continued to correspond with Mother Regin and Mother Thompson. Mother Regins replys always included, my letter returned -- "RED LINED" ! Sincere love and prayers, Tony Novak
