As seen in the Shrine at St. Charles, MO |
February 17, 1839 ~ Mother Duchesne writes to Mother Barat, "He warned us that this would mean carrying His Cross, but He also promises endless happiness in return for our struggles and sufferings. We can always live in His friendship if we accept His conditions. I am often troubled at the prospect of a useless and infirm old age, but I am not there yet, for the lack of hired servants leaves me plenty to do."
