February 1, 1818 ~ Mother Duchesne writes to her sister Euphrosine, "In leaving France I carry with me my memories and my love for my dear sisters and their children. You will pray for me, as I for you. At this moment when I am sacrificing all to work for the salvation of souls, I pray ardently that you may all cling to the one thing necessary. I shall always be closely united to you in the Sacred Heart of Jesus."
